rafters spacing Roof windows are equipped with universal brackets which allow the installation both on battens and rafters. When we choose the method of installation we should take under consideration the following factors. The window size should depend on rafter centres because it enables a fast and easy installation and ensures stability of construction and durability of fastening. It is very easy and quick to install windows on rafters when the rafters spacing is bigger than the window width. When installing on battens we can move the window horizontally to adjust better the place of installation in relation to the roof material profile. The installation on rafters is recommended especially when we replace old windows with new ones or when we install big windows. When the window's width is bigger than the spacing between rafters we use trimmers in roof construction. The horizontal beams should be positionned 30-50 cm from both the bottom and upper window edges. It will enable the proper performance of internal linings.
